“This is one of the tastiest meals you’ve made and you make a lot of good meals, but it’s up there on the list of making more often.” – Husband and Strandquist Family Farmer Tom.
I felt like I was wasting time searching for easy recipes with ingredients I had on hand a few days ago. I just couldn’t think of anything. Ever been there?
That was until I came across a couple of different Mongolian beef recipes.… Hmmm, I’ve got most of the ingredients and it sounds not only easy but yummy too.
Although I wasn’t trying to make a P.F. Chang’s version, if this was it, it was a big YES, more please. Having the freezer version before, this homecooked style surpasses it, especially in comparison to flavor and freshness. So you can skip the freezer aisle for this one and whip up your own hearty dish.
If you don’t have all the ingredients, no worries. This was a spontaneous meal I made and I didn’t have ginger or green onions, no sesame seeds nor any extras like peppers. If you have steak, garlic, cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar, and brown sugar, you’re good to go. It’s definitely worth making it yourself and super easy.
Some recipes included 2 NY strip steaks or a flank steak, but I used a NY strip steak and a skirt steak — it turned out great. So tender and delicious. You could also use sirloin steak.
Let’s get to that recipe:

I hope you enjoy as much as we did!
